Trina

Trina was already booked with another makeup artist when she had her trial makeup with me. I guess she wasn’t completely satisfied with her first one so she decided to go for a second trial.  Also, she wanted to try airbrush makeup since her first one was traditional.  My mindset during the trial was, “MUST CONVINCE  HER TO BOOK ME INSTEAD!”, and I succeeded in persuading her =)

ON ACIDIC SKIN

Her main concern is that she has acidic skin. How will you know if yours is acidic? Normally, when you put on makeup, it reacts with the skin and turns at least 2 shades darker than the rest of your skin tone. Not really a pretty sight. More often than not, women with oily skin have this problem. The solution is to use foundation that is 2 shades LIGHTER than your skin tone. Of course it looks odd at first,  but by doing this, when the makeup turns darker, it will more or less be the same shade as your skin tone. It really is tricky for a makeup artist to do makeup on this type of skin because some react within minutes of putting foundation while others react an hour after. So for a bride-to-be with acidic skin, it’s really important to have a trial makeup first so your makeup artist could get your foundation shade right.

THE GREAT AUREO ALONZO

Before I post headshots of Trina, I just had to write about the wedding gown made by Aureo Alonzo, or Tatang, as he is fondly called. I was simply awed by the design and beadwork, and it has the longest train I’ve ever seen on a bridal gown! Also, the thing about having your gown made by Tatang is that you can’t see it until the wedding day itself. You simply have to trust him and his team. Isn’t that nerve-wracking?

Dimple (my hairstylist) and I were also quite nervous because Trina said he is also very particular about hair and makeup. We breathed a sigh of relief when he complimented her hair and makeup. Coming from Tatang, it meant a lot!

Here’s Trina’s “before” photo:

Check out the hairstyle too! Love that headpiece =)

More photos from East Digital (I worked with them almost every weekend this May!):

Wala lang, just wanted to post this pic with Martin Nievera. Must be fun to have him as the host =p
